Why Childhaven?

We are a unique and curious setting offering your child a wonderful world of experiences in their earliest years.  We have recently achieved the Curiosity Approach accreditation and are the only setting in the area with this prestigious badge. Please see www.thecuriosityapproach.com.

Children are free to access a whole range of learning opportunities, indoors and out all year round.  We operate on two floors of a unique and beautiful Victorian building, as well as offering a fantastic garden space which the children can access in all weathers.

We have a highly qualified teaching team, including qualified teachers, higher level and advanced teaching assistants.  We have specialisms in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Speech and Language Development, beach schools, early reading, writing and maths, sensory play, heuristic play, and working with children for whom English is an additional language.

We also offer a range of enhanced activities, including…

Beach schools, food activities, walks and visits, Kathy Seabrook’s fun music, Yoga sessions, Jabadao (developmental movement play), nature club with our resident gardener, music and movement club with the Stephen Joseph Theatre and adults with dementia.

Oh my goodness look what happened in nursery today. The Easter Bunny was so excited to receive a letter from all the boys and girls in nursery that he came for a visit. He must have really big feet as he can stomp really loudly. I bet you didn’t know that the Easter bunny is really shy so he knocked on the door and left us some lovely treats. The children brought home an Easter nest and chocolate or sweets to share with their families. ... See MoreSee Less
